Car and Driver once called the Mazda CX-9 "the Karl Lagerfeld of a mom jeans segment." Its style is understated by the standards of the Mazda brand, but it's a far sight more attractive than many of its competitors, and it features handling and standard features that make it a bold choice. Here's why it's worth the trip to Lester Glenn Mazda.
2018 Mazda CX-9 Details
The powertrain on the 2018 Mazda CX-9 is all about balance. There's enough torque and horsepower to make driving a pleasure, even if you're carrying seven passengers and all their gear.
The engine's torque output is especially noteworthy. That's partly because it gives 3,500 pounds of towing capacity, but it's also because in combination with the Mazda G-Vectoring Control torque management system, this three-row SUV handles like a vehicle that's much smaller and lighter. Best of all, it's a highly efficient setup, so you'll spend more time on the road and less at the pump.
2018 Mazda CX-9 Safety and Special Features
The NHTSA hasn't rated the 2018 Mazda CX-9 yet, but the IIHS has. It earns their Top Safety Pick thanks to great build quality and a suite of active safety features that includes blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
Each of the four available trims (Sport, Touring, Grand Touring and Signature) comes respectably equipped. However, the Signature trim adds Nappa leather and genuine rosewood accents to an extensive standard feature list that includes Smart City Brake Support, Bluetooth® streaming, and standard all-wheel drive.
